The Trump administration is overhauling U.S. mining policy with the aim of shortening mine approval times, easing environmental regulation and strengthening critical minerals supply chains. The changes could encourage exploration investment and increase demand for mining equipment across North America.
National Mining Association CEO Rich Nolan described the current period as the best time to mine in the United States.

Shorter approval timelines could make prospective mining projects easier to plan and encourage spending on exploration. Equipment demand would depend on whether projects advance far enough to require machinery, so any increase in orders may follow investment decisions rather than the policy changes themselves.
The scale of the impact will depend on how the policy changes are implemented and how mining companies respond. For critical minerals supply chains, stronger development activity would not necessarily translate immediately into additional supply: projects must still progress from exploration through development before production can increase.
